Preventive services

We all know it’s important to get an annual wellness exam, and our four-legged friends are no exception. Routine wellness – including exams, vaccinations, parasite control and prevention, diet evaluation, supplements, prescriptions and more – plays a vital role in keeping your pet fit and strong.

In-hospital pharmacy

Getting your pet’s necessary prescription medications is easy and affordable at Woodlake. Our in-hospital pharmacy is fully stocked from flea and tick prevention to antibiotics and pain management drugs. Along with added convenience, you can rest assured that our trained veterinary staff is prescribing the right medication and is available to offer guidance and answer any questions you may have about your pet’s prescription.

On-site lab

Along with routine exams, we offer bloodwork, heartworm testing and more on-site using our state-of-the-art equipment that can read blood, urine, fecal and serum tests. This means you only have to wait minutes – not days – to find out what’s going on with your pet and begin treatment. In some cases, this could mean the difference in the life or death of your animal.

Digital radiography

When your beloved pet is suffering, every second counts. That’s why at Woodlake, we offer digital X-rays to diagnose and treat your pet faster than ever before. Digital X-rays offer cleaner, crisper images that can be previewed immediately.

PennHIP screenings and OFA certification

Screenings can help you prepare for potential problems that may arise with your dog. We provide AIS PennHIP screenings to estimate the risk of painful osteoarthritis of canine hip dysplasia later in life and Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) certification. Early detection can help prevent or lessen the severity of hip issues to extend the dog’s life and allow breeders to make informed decisions about which dogs to keep in breeding programs.

Ultrasound examinations

A helpful examination tool, ultrasounds offer a non-invasive, non-painful imaging method that can be used in the diagnosis and staging of many diseases. At Woodlake, we use ultrasounds as needed to evaluate internal abdominal organs – such as the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, urinary bladder and lymph nodes – to check for pregnancy and much more.
